Academy Award Winning Director Bong Joon Ho Will Be Going In A Whole New Direction For One Of His Next Films
Academy Award winning director Bong Joon Ho will reportedly be going in an entirely new direction with one of his next films, challenging the animation genre.
According to an exclusive report from Star News, Bong Joon Ho has completed the scenario for his animated film based on deep-sea fish, and is preparing for production of the film. The movie is said to be about invertebrate deep-sea fish and marine life who think they have discs in their body. Bong Joon Ho has reportedly already asked individuals in the film industry to take a look at his scenario, and that he started creating this idea last year. In addition, he has already asked an actor close to him to be a voice actor in the film.
Bong Joon Ho’s new work is sure to be highly anticipated following his critical acclaim for Parasite, which won three awards at the 92nd Academy Awards and the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Bong Joon Ho has also never directed an animated film before, increasing the anticipation for what he will bring to the table. Currently, he is working on several scenarios both in English and Korean. One of his Korean scenarios is a horror based film that takes place in Seoul while his English scenario is based on a true story that happened in 2016.
The timing of the production of the films has not yet been decided yet, so it is unknown whether Bong Joon Ho’s animated film will be produced before or after his other scenarios and the HBO-produced Parasite spin-off drama he is participating in alongside Adam McKay.
