Actor Ahn Jae Hyun reveals his dieting experience
Almost all celebrities watch their weight so as to look good on screen, and traveling on the path of fame, Ahn Jae Hyun is no exception. The star himself revealed that he is the type who gains weight easily, so in order to maintain a slim body shape, he tried extreme dieting methods.
Once, it was so extreme that his hands would shiver uncontrollably, so he realized that it was affecting his health too negatively and halted that diet plan.
As a model-turned-actor, Ahn Jae Hyun has received much attention, as he was cast in hit K-dramas, acting as the younger brother of Cheon Song Yi (played by Jeon Ji Hyun) in the SBS drama You Who Came From The Stars, and playing Park Tae Il in SBS‘s You’re All Surrounded, alongside Lee Seung Gi and Go Ara.
Ahn Jae Hyun started out his modeling career in 2009, owing to his tall figure and exceptionally good looks. However, he still had to be cautious about his figure as it would be noticeable if he gained just a little bit of weight. There was a period of time where he only dared to eat fruits, vegetables, and rice, refusing to consume any other carbohydrate-rich foods.
“If I felt like I was about to faint, I would have a mouthful of kimbap and go back up on stage,” he said. After saying such a sentence, he ends it off with a lighter note by joking that male models control their diet more meticulously than typical girls. There were times where Ahn Jae Hyun underwent extreme fasting and when he went for a drink, he would crave food that was normally prohibited. If he could not resist the temptation, it would backfire instead as he ended up binge eating.
When Ahn Jae Hyun started to get more busy with numerous love calls, he realized that he could not perform well if his body was not in good condition. He understood that health was extremely important and stopped his extreme dieting plans. Now, Ahn Jae Hyun shares that he consumes nuts for a healthy nutritional diet.
Ahn Jae Hyun’s recent guest appearance on Happy Together also gained attention as his childhood photos show that his good looks were genetically inherited from his mother. He also surprised everyone in the same episode by saying that he was actually suggested to get plastic surgery several times.
The star also shared his story behind his debut as an actor on Girls’ Generation member Sunny‘s radio show, while revealing more about himself through an interview with Daily Sports.
