Actor Who Played Ali In “Squid Game” Surprises Fans With His Previous Appearance In “Descendants Of The Sun”
All of the actors from Squid Game have been experiencing a massive surge in popularity following the premiere of the show, and it is no different for Indian actor Anupam Tripathi.
As Anupam Tripathi’s popularity continues to rise following his portrayal as Ali in the dystopian series, his past works are being re-highlighted — and one specific production is surprising the public.
It was belatedly revealed that the actor had previously acted in another mega-hit production, Descendants of the Sun! The South-Korea-based Indian actor played the role of a power plant worker in the fictional war-torn country of Uruk. Anupam Tripathi’s character was one of the many who got injured in an earthquake.
His character was treated by Song Hye Kyo‘s character Kang Mo Yeon.
While Anupam Tripathi didn’t have a single line during his appearance in the K-Drama, his acting was portrayed immaculately using just his facial expressions and body language.
He especially captivated the audience after he lent Song Hye Kyo’s character his work boots after seeing her running around the rubble in her sandals.
Descendants of the Sun is not listed in any of Anupam Tripathi’s information pages, which may be the reason why the public was even more surprised at this news.
Anupam Tripathi may have only had a small role in Descendants of the Sun, but we’re so glad that the talented actor is gaining the recognition he deserves following his appearance in Squid Game! We get a feeling that this is all just the beginning and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
