Actor Hwang In Yeop Is Going To Be In A New K-Drama And It’s Very Different From “True Beauty”
Actor and model Hwang In Yeop has a new K-Drama coming out in March of 2022, and it is very different from his previous viral role in True Beauty.
True Beauty, based on a Korean Webtoon of the same name, was about main character Lim Ju Kyung and her attempts to overcome her inferiority complex by experimenting with makeup. Alongside Moon Ga Young, who played Ju Kyung, and ASTRO‘s Cha Eunwoo, who played Lee Su Ho, actor Hwang In Yeop gained popularity through his compelling portrayal of Han Seo Jun.
Many viewers of the drama empathized with Seo Jun, finding his scenes with Ju Kyung to be compelling and romantic. Fans vocalized that they wish he had been able to overcome “secondary male lead syndrome,” in which the secondary male lead never gets the girl.

But fortunately for fans of Hwang In Yeop’s acting, in his upcoming drama, Why Oh Soo Jae? he is finally playing the male lead.
But the recent release of a Viki Global trailer for the show demonstrates that beyond simply being the lead, this new role will offer Hwang In Yeop an opportunity to demonstrate his acting range.
The trailer is intense from the very beginning, showing actress Seo Hyun Jin maintaining a calm, confident presence despite the chaos of others around her.
In the drama, Seo Hyun Jin plays Oh Soo Jae, the main character. She is a young, talented lawyer whose place in a law firm is taken away because of an unexpected case.
Now taking up a role as a professor at a law school, she meets Hwang In Yeop’s character, Gong Chan, a new law student.
Gong Chan looks incredibly concerned and surprised throughout the trailer, even running away desperately in a scene.
And while Hwang In Yeop gained many fans through his emotional portrayal of Seo Jun in True Beauty, his new role as Gong Chan looks like it will allow him to take on a darker, even more dynamic character.
