Actor Jang Geun Suk Shares His Battle With Thyroid Cancer
Actor Jang Geun Suk recently shared the shocking news of his cancer diagnosis with fans.
On August 16, KST, the actor posted a short YouTube video on his channel. The video title read, “Hello, this is Jang Geun Suk. I have something to confess.”
In the clip, Jang explained his prolonged absence, sharing that he had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer nearly a year ago. He kept the news a secret to avoid delivering a huge shock to his viewers.
The actor also added that he had successfully received his surgery and was making the video two weeks post-op. Jang mentioned that for eight days after surgery, he avoided everything stressful out of fear. But now, his condition was much better, and he was able to talk, which was a sign of progress.
Jang also mentioned that he planned to spend some relaxing time at Jeju Island to recuperate from the surgery.
Meanwhile, Jang Geun Suk is known for his roles in K-Dramas like A Korean Odyssey and Switch. He also appeared as a cast member on the popular Netflix show The Influencer recently.
