The request follows a raid on Hook Entertainment by Police Agents. At the time, it was speculated that the raid was due to embezzlement allegations and that it may be tied to a larger investigation into the agency’s ties with Park Min Young‘s ex-boyfriend, Kang Jong Hyun.
Then on November 21, news outlet Dispatch released a damning exposé alleging that the label hasn’t paid Lee Seung Gi a dime for his singing activities. The allegations are particularly scandalous as Lee Seung Gi is one of Korea’s most well-known ballad singers and had a string of hits, including classics “Because You’re My Woman” and “Will You Marry Me.”
Hook Entertainment has not released a statement addressing the allegations. Instead, the label had earlier stated that due to the implications of the allegations, they aren’t able to yet comment on them.
