Chinese actor Yang Bo shocked netizens earlier today when he posted a suicide note on Weibo. The actor was recently accused of cheating on his girlfriend while in a public relationship by kissing a fan.
The scandal began when a netizen posted on Webo that Yang had allegedly cheated on his girlfriend by kissing a female fan while enjoying a walk on the beach with her. Following the uproar, the actor admitted they had kissed but tried to defend himself by revealing he had not had any sexual relations with the fan.
Yang went even further, saying, “She knew she would be the mistress but still did it. She even forced me to agree to be in this inappropriate relationship.”
This move was heavily criticized by Chinese netizens, who pointed out that he should be holding himself responsible for the cheating scandal instead of trying to shift the blame on the woman.
Following the public backlash, Yang posted a suicide note on Weibo today, where he spoke about his poor mental state and claimed that he was “harassed and threatened by the woman for the past 3 months.”
I’ve probably already passed away by the time you guys see this. Firstly, I’m mentally weak. Combining this with the harassment and threats from the woman for the past 3 months, my psychological state is really poor. Secondly, I really did do something wrong, so it’s karma.

The post understandably worried netizens, with many thinking the actor has resorted to taking his own life amidst the scandal. Thankfully, everyone would later find out that Yang Bo was indeed safe and sound after he posted an update on Weibo.
The actor apologized for “causing concern” and explained that he had just “drunk too much.”
I drank too much, but I didn’t die. Nothing’s wrong with me aside from an upset stomach. A lot of people and the police have found me. Sorry for causing concern.
