Actor Yoo Teo‘s father passed away today, on December 18, KST.
The actor’s agency, Beatnik Entertainment, confirmed the news to Newsen on December 18. According to their statement, Yoo’s father had been suffering from a chronic illness before his passing. The actor and his wife, Nikki S. Lee, will be leaving for Germany on December 19, where his family lives.
The agency also confirmed that Yoo will not attend the 2024 MBC Entertainment Awards due to current circumstances.
Yoo Teo has always been very outspoken about his deep affection for his family and even attended the screening of his movie Leto at the Berlin International Film Festival with his parents. Talking about this’s s experience during his appearance on MBC‘s Point of Omniscient Interfere, Yoo said, “I was born and raised in Germany. So, I went to the film festival with my parents (who live in Germany) because I wanted to see the movie together with my family.”
Yoo Teo recently appeared on the MBC variety show Music Adventure by Accident with popular YouTube creator and entertainer Kian84. The show concluded in October.
