Rising Actress Gets Honest About Her Full Nude Sex Scene—Including What Her Parents Thought
Actress Park Ji Hyun, best known for her popular K-Dramas like Reborn Rich, shared her honest thoughts about her upcoming K-Movie, Hidden Face. The movie, set to premiere on November 20, 2024 (KST), has garnered much attention since it was revealed to include Park’s “full nude sex scene.”
In an interview with the Korean press, Park shared that the sex scene didn’t make her nervous because she agreed with the director’s vision of the scene.
I thought of the lack of clothes being the outfit for that scene. Being Mi Joo and performing the nude scene didn’t make me nervous. I don’t think the fact that I’m nude is the main focus of that scene. It’s about Mi Joo seducing Seong Jin in front of Soo Yeon. As an actress, when choosing something to work on, I imagine how certain scenes would unfold. For this scene, that’s how I saw it happening, and the director shared a similar vision—which I agreed with.
I also think it’s great that I got to take on such a role at a stage where I’ve somewhat established a name for myself. It would only bring me more recognition. I don’t think nudity is something only rookies do. I would have chosen this project no matter when it came my way. Whether I was less famous or more famous than I am now, I believe I’d have still made the same choice. But the more well-known I am, the more people will see the work, so I think that’s a positive.

As for her parents’ reaction to her bold performance, Park commented that she received full support from them and that, while it wasn’t celebrated, the scene didn’t make them upset either.
My parents have always known that I have been auditioning for roles that involved nudity. Ever since I started my acting career, especially once I reached adulthood, they’ve been fully supportive and have trusted my choices. They didn’t necessarily think it was ‘great’ that this role came with a sex scene, but they weren’t upset by it either. They trusted my decision.

Hidden Face, based on the 2011 Spanish-Colombian original of the same name, is teased to have two sex scenes between Park Ji Hyun and her co-star Song Seung Heon. In a previous interview, Park revealed that she worked out to make sure she has “the physique that would suit Mi Joo’s character” to be shown in those two scenes.
I did ballet and strength training. I tried to think about the shape and physique that would suit Mi Joo’s character. I also discussed with the director about how Mi Joo’s personality, her traits as a cellist, and the scenes showing her body should come together. I didn’t exactly restrict my diet. Instead, I focused on exercising a lot.

Given the amount of work that she put into the movie, it’s no wonder Park is excited for its release.
I’m happy that people think the film is intriguing and entertaining. With the release just a day away, I’m not nervous. There’s nothing I can change now, and since I had fun making it, I’m not going to dwell on the outcome. I just hope a lot of people will go watch it. I gained so much throughout the process.
