Actress Yoo In Na Duped A Man Out Of Millions Without Even Realizing It

Actress Yoo In Na recently shared an intriguing story about how she became the face of an online scam in her past.

On December 10, Yoo posted a video on her YouTube channel where she interviewed actor Park Jung Min. During their conversation, the actress brought up an anecdote from her early 20s when she got involved in a romance scam.

Back then, the actress used to work part-time at a café. She recalled that one day, a man walked into the café looking for her, calling her Hye Young. When Yoo explained that it wasn’t her name, the man took out his cellphone to show her pictures of Hye Young, but all of them were actually Yoo’s photos.

“What happened was an unknown woman had deceived that man with my Cyworld photos,” Yoo explained. But the woman didn’t stop at catfishing, she even scammed the man out of his money. Yoo In Na mentioned that she couldn’t remember the details very well now, but “the amount of damage was around 1-2 million KRW.” Given that the incident happened over a decade ago, ₩1 KRW (about $0.00 USD) was a significantly larger amount of money back then.

Yoo In Na recalled that the man was enraged after realizing he had been scammed and contacted the perpetrator right away. When he threatened to report her to the authorities, the woman panicked and returned his money.

Reflecting on the incident, the actress concluded that though it wasn’t a good experience, it has become one of the more unique stories from her past.
