ADOR’s CEO Requests To Meet With NewJeans In-Person

They have been preparing for the group’s next year activities.

On November 29, ADOR revealed the contents of the email that CEO Ju Young Kim sent to NewJeans.

In the email, Kim expressed her frustration in not being able to meet the members in person.

“I hoped to meet you in person at least once in the two weeks since I received the letter of intent. Unfortunately, I have to send you an email like this rather than meeting in person. The ADOR staff have been in a state of frustration and sadness for the past 14 days.

Since NewJeans were our only artists, some staff felt anxious about the situation. However, we did not forget our duty as the group’s agency. We examined the members’ demands and prepared a response to them.

There were some parts that ADOR did not do or could not take direct action on, and we felt that two weeks was too short, but we did our best with the given time through discussions and confirming with the company.”

They also revealed that they were preparing for next year’s group activities.

“Our company has been working hard to prepare for next year’s activities and the album concept. Unfortunately, Min Hee Jin informed us last week that she would not be able to work with ADOR. Although we had just a week, our situation was too urgent to be disappointed. We reviewed a lineup of domestic and international producers who can bring out the potential of the members, and we are trying to move in a more positive direction.

Of course, our doors are always wide open, and if Min Hee Jin changes her mind and returns, it would be the best. I received the report on the group’s plans and album concept for next year, and if the members are willing to take part, I have no doubt that we will create music that includes their sincerity and showcases their colors.

The most surprising part of receiving the letter was that the members were worried that we would neglect them without any plans. However, HYBE’s CEO Lee Jae Sang contacted me today (November 28) and revealed that he would not spare any support on a global level based on HYBE’s capabilities.”

She also hoped to be able to meet with the members in-person to discuss matters.

“I sent my response to the members through express mail around 4 PM today (November 28), and I could not send you an email with the attached reply because I was busy with meetings. I heard that you will hold a press conference at 8:30 PM. I hope that our response will clear up any misunderstanding.

If possible, I would like to meet in person to discuss this. Please take the time to think about it while in Japan and let me know your schedule. I will also tune in to your press conference today.”

Meanwhile, NewJeans held an emergency press conference on November 28 and announced they would leave ADOR and terminate their exclusive contracts as the requested issues had not been met.
