ADOR Reveals They Have Taken The Best Measures For The Eight Demands Made By NewJeans
On November 29, ADOR revealed the contents of the email sent to NewJeans.
NewJeans sent a certified letter to the company on November 13 with eight requests, and the company has taken the best possible measures for each issue and responded via email within the deadline.
The company also requested to meet the members for a sincere conversation and revealed that they would do their best to support the artists’ activities and help them grow as global artists.
Below are the agency’s responses to the eight requests made by NewJeans.
1. Regarding the request to take all necessary measures regarding HYBE’s decision to “throw away New and start fresh.”
“ADOR drew the line stating the report was written by HYBE. After requesting an explanation, they responded, ‘We have confirmed that HYBE is not saying they will abandon NewJeans and did not ‘decide’ or ‘order’ any actions. They added that it would be difficult to conduct audits or take personnel actions against HYBE employees.
In terms of grouping LE SSERAFIM as ‘NEW-I-LE,’ rather than being compared to the other two groups, it suggested it would be better to position themselves with other female groups (BLACKPINK, aespa, IVE) who achieved million-seller albums at the time.”
2. Regarding the claim that ADOR did not take any action and neglected the issue of another label manager ‘ignoring’ Hanni.
“ADOR has clarified that this was done by an employee from another label and has emphasized that they will take necessary measures without damaging the artist’s image. They also explained the efforts to identify the circumstances of the CCTV not being archived. The CCTV employee checked the footage and explained that they found nothing unusual except for them greeting one another, so that was the only footage that was archived. They also requested an in-person meeting with the manager (BELIFT LAB) but were denied.”
3. Regarding the request demanding ADOR to take action regarding the inappropriate statement made by a HYBE PR employee.
“We express sincere regret for the concern the artist must have felt and have immediately raised an objection with HYBE and demanded measures to prevent recurrences. HYBE has also excluded the PR member in question from the PR group. We also received legal advice on whether the member was subject to disciplinary action but were told it was not.”
4. Regarding the claim that videos and photos of NewJeans from when they were trainees were released without permission and not deleted.
“We are not the source from which they were posted or distributed, so we cannot delete them directly. ADOR has also requested that the media stop posting and is actively working to identify the source of how the videos were leaked.”
5. Regarding the request to resolve the damage caused by HYBE’s ‘pushing’
“We have explained and confirmed with HYBE that ‘album pushing’ did not occur.”
6. Regarding the dispute with director Shin Woo Seok and the issue of existing works disappearing due to this issue.
“ADOR claimed they only requested the ‘ETA Director’s Cut’ to be deleted, but the director deleted videos that we did not request. ADOR has also taken necessary measures to prevent infringement of rights.”
7. Regarding the request to take all measures to preserve the color of NewJeans and ensure NewJeans’ activities.
“Although ADOR announced they were preparing for a domestic fan meeting, full-album release, and world tour for next year, the artists continue to refuse discussion. Also, regarding the claim that BELIFT LAB’s plan was copied, we tried to confirm, but Min Hee Jin did not submit any evidence. BELIFT LAB stated that they have already responded enough through interviews, so it is difficult to confirm.”
8. Regarding the request to reinstate Min Hee Jin.
“Maintaining a specific person as CEO is a matter of judgment by the ADOR board of directors. In terms of production, we will do our best to respect the artists’s requests so that Min Hee Jin can take charge of producing.”
Meanwhile, NewJeans held an emergency press conference on November 28 and announced they would leave ADOR and terminate their exclusive contracts as the requested issues had not been met.
