ADOR Warns NewJeans Against Promoting With New Name

They responded to the group’s latest social media activity.

ADOR has released an official statement in response of the NewJeans members’ latest social media post.

On January 23, KST, the group took to their independent Instagram account, @jeanzforfree, to announe a fan contest to “find a new promotional name to use for a certain period of time.”

The post generated quite the excitement among NewJeans fans as it indicated that the group might have plans to be active under a temporary name until the dust settles HYBE and ADOR. But this fan contest announcement was followed by ADOR’s warning against any such step.

On January 23, KST, ADOR told media outlets that the members attempting to be active independently would be a serious breach of contract.

ADOR maintains the position that our exclusive contract with NewJeans is still valid and we are faithfully engaged in the court proceedings. It is regrttable that the members are attempting to pursue independent entertainment activities, such as asking for new name suggestions, before receiving the legal judgement, as this could be a serious breach of contract.
