After making her official solo debut on September 10 with the single “Done,” Naevis, the first virtual artist of SM Entertainment, has now kicked off promotional activities for the song.
Nævis (also known as NAVIS or Naevis) is an AI-powered (Artificial Intelligence) member of the group aespa. She is a central part of the group’s metaverse lore, responsible for helping the group and their avatars coexist as they fight the fictional Black Mamba villain.
Recently, Naevis appeared as a guest on the popular talk show MMTG, hosted by JaeJae. and talked about her debut, shared some of her background stories, and more.
During the interview, Naevis not only responded to every question like a pro idol, but her mannerisms and body language were just like the real thing.
As much as netizens praised this achievement on SME’s achievement in creating a real-like AI idol, the interview has also freaked out many, to whom this entire situation was no less than an uncanny valley.
