On July 23, aespa arrived at Gimpo Airport, returning from China. The group was in the country for a fansign and special cafe event with KMSTATION, where they met and greeted fans.

Their arrival at the airport was later at night than usual, meaning some assumed they would avoid dealing with a mobbing situation.

Airport mobbings have become increasingly worse as more fans show up to attempt to see their favorite idols up close. However, the resulting pandemonium often poses a risk to idols, fans, and even other individuals at the airport.

During aespa’s recent arrival, things seemed like they would not take a dangerous turn. Each of the members were photographed as they began making their way to the exit with plenty of space around them.

Unfortunately, this changed as they got closer to the exit, with a large crowd quickly surrounding them. The group’s bodyguards tighten around them to protect them from the sudden surge of moving bodies.

At one point, Winter can be seen trying to avoid taking a letter from a fan, which is then thrown at her. The pair look scared and uncomfortable throughout the short journey, standing as close to each other as possible.

The worst of the mobbing seems to happen as the group make their way through the exit, with Karina and Winter getting shoved and jammed between their security.

Fans were left disappointed by what occurred, especially considering Winter recently had surgery.
