Aespa Fans Notice Something “Suspicious” About Their Comeback Following Bang Si Hyuk’s Alleged Statement
Not long after the heated feud between ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE began, the CEO held a press conference where she gave her side of the story.
Included in this were alleged messages between her and Bang Si Hyuk, showing their relationship through the years. In the most viral message, Bang Si Hyuk reportedly asked Min Hee Jin if she could “crush aespa” with her new group.
- Bang Si Hyuk: You can crush aespa, right? Heh.
- Min Hee Jin: Hahaha.
- Bang Si Hyuk: Hahaha. I’m leaving it to you then (emoji). When shall we have a drink?
Many were left outraged by this alleged statement, with some connecting it to a newly discovered coincidence surrounding aespa’s comebacks.
Recently, aespa have been gearing up for the release of their first full album Armageddon. On May 13, the group are scheduled to release “Supernova” as a pre-release single.
One of the most anticipated parts of a comeback are the music show performances, so when it was announced that the May 15 edition of Show Champion was cancelled, many K-Pop fans in general were disappointed.
Though aespa would likely not appear on this episode anyway, one fan pointed out that this was not the first time that Show Champion was cancelled around the time of aespa’s comebacks.
are yall not noticing a pattern here.. pic.twitter.com/AzI1oZONSZ

The first instance occurred around the October 5, 2021 release of “Savage,” potentially preventing them from earning another win.
The other instances were much closer to their comeback dates, with shows being cancelled on May 17, 2023 happening during the first week they were eligible for wins for “Spicy.” The November cancellations were while the group were promoting “Drama.”
While there are possible explanations for the cancelled shows, like holidays, some believe they are more than just a coincidence, linking them to Bang Si Hyuk’s statements. Others that have brought up HYBE’s only recently resolved feud with MBC making this less likely believe a higher influence might be targeting aespa.
