The survival show contestant gained attention after being in a now-deleted photo with controversial streamer Juice Seyeon.

Following the announcement, a past picture resurfaced where Haon asked a female rapper if she was a feminist.
The photo regarding his question on feminism meant netizens shared their discontent about the collaboration.
Yet, netizens had mixed thoughts about the root of the decision. While some believed that with aespa’s experience, it would have been Giselle’s choice (supported by the company), others didn’t understand why the idol was seemingly getting more criticism than Haon.
- “If Giselle were a complete rookie, I’d think the company set up the collaboration. But aespa isn’t at that level—she probably did it just because she wanted to.”
- “The company should have stopped this. Doesn’t Giselle have more female fans?”
- “Sigh…”
- “Oh dear, oh dear.”
- “I didn’t know, but looking at the comments, she’s clueless too.”
- “Really not a good look.”
- “Really bad. Giselle probably did it because she wanted to, but why with someone like that? She must not be thinking.”
- “It’s funny that Giselle is getting more criticism, haha. The scandal was caused by the guy.”
- “There’s no way people will say good things when she’s collaborating with someone like that.'”
- “How would she have known? I mean, I had no idea. So how do we know she knew?”
- “Is SM anti-feminist?”
- “Don’t mess with Giselle, you crazy people.”
The collaboration will be released on November 20.
