Aespa’s Giselle Is Being Praised For Her Impressive Professionalism During Her Performance Of “ZOO”
SM Entertainment never planned to let NCT‘s Taeyong, Hendery, Jeno, Yang Yang, and aespa‘s Giselle perform their hit song “ZOO.”
But since he was proud of the song, Taeyong worked hard to convince SM Entertainment to let them perform the song at SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS@KWANGYA, the free online concert held by SM Entertainment on January 1, 2022.
I’m sure you guys might know this already. “ZOO” is a song that was recorded for the SMTOWN album, but I thought it was a bit wasteful—there didn’t seem to be a chance for it to be performed on stage, but to only include it in the album seemed so wasteful. Even though it was really busy back then, and I’m not that experienced, I said I would try to make a stage performance for it, and that’s how I came to make the performance for “ZOO.”
— Taeyong
At the time, fans thought that the performance was the highlight of the online concert and made sure to tell Taeyong just how grateful they were.
ZOO is so so good!
Thank you very much! I’m really really thankful for you guys! I’m really happy a lot of people followed the choreography, thank you very much 🙏🏻♥️ pic.twitter.com/aKzFmMhpfA— 태용.zip (@tyzip_) January 17, 2022
Naturally, fans were incredibly excited to see “ZOO” included in the list for SM Entertainment’s recent SMTOWN LIVE in-person concert. And while the stage was powerful as always, fans were frustrated with the staff for some technological difficulties.
Aespa’s Giselle, in particular, was contending with issues with both her mic and in-ears. The in-ears especially seemed challenging to deal with since the music seemed to be playing for Giselle at a different tempo than the actual song.
But despite the difficulties, Giselle didn’t miss a beat. Although she tried to adjust her in-ear, as any idol would, she kept a smile on her face while performing.
Fans are understandably praising Giselle for her performance since the idol definitely proved her professionalism on stage.
can we talk about how giselle handled this professionally? she still performed well despite having problems with her mic and in-ears https://t.co/0EROq1qFYK

Fans were especially touched when they realized that NCT tried to compensate for the technical difficulties by backing up her vocals on her parts.

And fans are pointing out just how difficult it must have been to perform with a timing delay, proving that Giselle handled it like a boss.
Imagine being whole 2 seconds late and you have to catch up with the rest. Damnn it's truly nerve wrecking https://t.co/AZOvfSLNVu

Hopefully the technical issues will be fixed for the rest of their performances.
