Although she has the perfect canvas for any makeup artist, there are bound to be some colors or styles that suit the star less. While netizens raved over her recent natural makeup look for Musinsa Beauty…
…they were equally disappointed by the highly-saturated smokey look that they styled her in for a different concept. While the makeup looked okay in the final, edited photo, a video taken by a phone camera showed just how thick her makeup was.
She was decked out in pigmented coral blush and an orange lip, paired with bold eye-makeup.
The overall look did not seem to go well together, with the greyish tones clashing with the warm shades on her cheeks and lips.
Netizens voiced their preference for the more subtle look on her.
- Smokey makeup really doesn’t flatter her… I think smokey makeup suits darker skin more.
- They turned a pretty kid into a gyopo.
Others explained that due to cameras and lighting, her makeup artist was probably forced to be more heavy-handed.
- All of this gets washed out thanks to the lighting, so they have to do it that thick. And anyway, the makeup concept was originally like that.
- It’s just makeup done specifically for that shoot’s concept anyway.
Others debated that it might not be the “smokey” style that was the problem. Karina has pulled off smokey makeup looks before and looked stunning.
Bad makeup or not, Karina’s ability to still come out of it looking gorgeous just proves that her facecard will never decline!
