Recently, we reported that Ahn Jae Hyun has returned to drama audiences after a four years hiatus. The actor is the lead of KBS‘s new weekend family drama, The Real Has Come!

The drama tells the story of Oh Yeon Doo, played by Baek Jin Hee, who is single and pregnant, and Gong Tae Kyung, who is played by Ahn Jae Hyun, who is a doctor that has sworn off marriage. In the drama, the two begin a fake relationship but eventually fall in love with one another.
The drama’s inaugural two episodes have been well received, the second of which went on to record a viewership rating of over 20%.
It is worth noting that family weekend dramas historically have done really well, with the genre’s top achievers, such as IU’s You Are The Best! and Jung So Min’s My Father Is Strange, going on to record staggering viewership ratings of 30% and 36%, respectively.
Even so, despite the strong start, Ahn Jae Hyun, who plays the male lead in The Real Has Come!, has come under fire for his acting. Audiences criticized the actor for his awkward expressions and unnatural acting.
Netizens expressed their disappointment in the comments section of the drama. Many stated how, despite the fact they liked Ahn Jae Hyun, his poor acting is hard to overlook.

- “Sigh… I like Ahn Jae Hyun, but I really think acting is not for him… His expressions and his pronunciation (are bad)…ㅠㅠ.”

The criticisms are a blow to the actor’s comeback attempt. The actor, who once starred in more ambitious projects such as The Beauty Inside and Reunited Worlds, made his return on The Real Has Come! after four years away from the drama industry. Despite his rocky start, many fans are hoping the actor will be able to turn things around in future episodes.
