The When, Where, And How: Ailee Tells All About Her Engagement To “Single’s Inferno” Star Fiancé
In the latest episode of JohnMaat YouTube channel’s “BYOB” series, beloved soloist Ailee guested to tell all about her engagement to Single’s Inferno star and businessman Choi Si Hoon (also known as Choi Si Hun).
In May 2024, two months after Ailee’s engagement news broke, Choi Si Hoon was confirmed to be her fiancé.

Back then, not a lot of details were shared about the couple—but as their wedding date set to be sometime in 2025 nears, Ailee has blessed her fans with the story of how she found true love.
Explaining how “sad” she was that she “didn’t get to announce the relationship” herself, Ailee shared with the show hosts, Fly To The Sky‘s Brian and god‘s Joon Park, that the two of them started off as friends, but soon enough, they knew they had found “the one” in each other.
Brian: When did you guys first meet?
Ailee: We met through a friend.
Brian: So it wasn’t a blind date?
Ailee: No, it was not. We weren’t even interested in each other at that time. We were just hanging out. But the more I got to talk to him, and got to, you know, get to know him better… I realized what a good person he was. As we got to talking, we both kind of realized at the same time, like, “Oh, shoot. I think I’m going to marry him.” And he knew.
Brian: Even before you guys dated?
Ailee: Yeah. Even before we dated. And he felt the same way, too. He’s like, “Oh, crap. I think I’m going to get married to this girl.”
Joon Park: Wow.
Ailee: Yeah, we both had that feeling. So I decided to get to know him a little better.
Ailee bragged about her husband-to-be, mentioning how sweet and supportive he is.

He’s very supportive. And he babies me, so… And I’m like, 35 being babied. It feels really good!

Ailee also revealed that their first date was at god’s concert in 2023—where the two shared their slow-motion K-Drama moment that made things “official!”
Joon Park: And guess where their first date was at.
Brian: Where was their first date? At a god concert?!
Joon Park: Yo, let’s get it! Last year!
Ailee: It was during the concert when we became a couple. He didn’t “ask me out” or anything. It was kind of chilly and I had his jacket over my knees. We were enjoying the music and, like, I put my hands inside the jacket. And we kind of, like, touched. Our hands kind of touched and… I didn’t move. So while everybody was like dancing and singing along, my face was red.
Joon Park: It’s like a movie!
Ailee: We were in our own little world. It was, like, slow motion.
