On December 16, singer Ailee appeared on a TV show and shared how she met her soon-to-be husband Choi Si Hun, a former participant on the popular Netflix dating show Single’s Inferno (2021).

I originally had no intention of getting married and had given up. I don’t go out often, so I don’t meet many people. I thought I wouldn’t be able to marry anyone if I kept living like this. That’s when we met by chance.

She revealed that they became lovers at a g.o.d concert.

We just kept in contact before the concert, but then Joon Park asked if he was my boyfriend. I said no at the time, but we became a couple after watching the concert.

She remembered what happened between them during the concert.

I was shaking because the concert hall was a bit cold, and he gave me his jacket. Our hands touched while we were sharing the jacket.

To this, panel member Brian asked, “Who said let’s get married first?”

“I think it just happened naturally. There isn’t a specific proposal I want to receive. The proposal culture is different in Korea and the U.S. so it feels a bit off.

In the States, people propose before they prepare for the wedding. They might get rejected, but it’s about expressing the feeling of wanting to spend the rest of my life with this person. There’s no point in proposing when you’re already done preparing for the wedding.”

She also revealed that wedding planning was going smoothly.

The wedding preparations are going well. All the big things are over. We didn’t fight once. We’re thinking about having two or three children.
