AKMU’s Chanhyuk Performs “Panorama” Still With His Back To The Audience But His Face Can Be Seen
Two days ago (October 20), AKMU‘s Chanhyuk made an unconventional performance in MNET‘s M Countdown by performing his latest song, “Panorama,” with his back facing the audience throughout the song.
Despite this uncharacteristic way of performing, the fans loved his performance and raved about his artistry. The fans didn’t see his performance as unfavorable in any way.
This time, Chanhyuk performed “Panorama” once again in Show! MusicCore, still with his back facing the audience for the duration of the song but with a mirror in front of him, allowing the audience to get a glimpse of his face.
A netizen lauded whoever was holding the mirror in front of him while singing the song. It turned out the man was none other than his manager, whom Chanhyuk thoughtfully mentioned to the audience as deserving of applause for his effort.
Chanhyuk is also promoting his first solo album, “Error,” which was released on October 17. In an interview with The Korea Herald, Chanhyuk explained that it took eight years to put together his first solo album, a part of which was his participation in AKMU. His album is entitled “Error” because he questioned some of his old beliefs and hoped that this album’s tracks could convey his series of stories that connect to his new creeds.
“Panorama” is the third track in the album; with it, the new Lee Chanhyuk comes to life.
I needed a track to show how I bid farewell to my old character and welcomed the new side of me. It’s also a song that shows that the life that the old me had lived wasn’t honest.
— Chanhyuk
