Alarming Trend Of Fake “Nth Room” Lists Featuring K-Pop Idols Takes Over Social Media
Currently, in Korea, there is a new ongoing case of alleged sex crimes that has been collectively called “The New Nth Room,” consisting of different Telegram-based chatrooms with two different purposes.
Massive chatrooms with the intention of humiliating women, sometimes even family members, were first brought to attention, with school chatrooms used for sending sexual deepfakes of classmates gaining attention shortly after.
A ‘humiliation room’ on Telegram with 1932 people in it. The room has various categories such as ‘cousin room,’ ‘mom room,’ ‘acquaintance room,’ ‘older sister room,’ and ‘younger sister room.’ Let’s look into what kind of photos are shared in these rooms. I have censored underwear and any skin showing, but I have left the clothes and blankets shown so that you can tell if you happen to be the victim. If it seems like it is you, please prove it and I will link you with the person who gave the tip-off.

K-Pop was also recently rocked by a sex crime scandal involving former NCT‘s Taeil, who was kicked out of the group after being charged.
Taeil’s scandal was connected to the “New Nth Room” crimes as unverified rumors circulated on social media, incorrectly linking a supposed list of male K-Pop idols involved to the “Nth Room” crimes.
Despite this being false information resulting from a mixture of fact and fiction, an alarming trend has surfaced online.
Primarily on TikTok, users have begun making fake lists of idols “confirmed” to be on the “Nth Room” list. While there are a number of idols falsely attached to the “Nth Room,” several lists include the same idols, with some even attempting to sell a fake list.

One list in particular has several idols included and is meant to look as if it is an official notice from the news outlet The Korea Times.
Fans of idols mentioned on these faked lists have requested their respective agencies take action, and help stop the spread of false information.
