Alleged Staff Exposes Truth Behind How Idols “Remember” Fans’ Personal Details During Fansigns
At times during fan sign, idols express having remembered certain fans, leaving them utterly in bliss. While some idols truly do remember their precious fans, others need a little reminder! An alleged staff member who worked part-time for a video call fan sign exposed the truth behind how idols seem to remember fans’ personal details.
They claimed to have been surprised that idols have a cheatsheet to the fans’ names and country. During each video call fan sign, the idols will begin a piece of paper with the list of fan sign participants. This sheet usually details things such as the fans’ names and country. This is for practical reasons such as signing the albums and switching to different languages for communication.
I tried working as a staff for a video call fan sign and got surprised at this. The idols call the fans’ names as soon as they see their faces. Seeing that, I thought that they had incredible memories. But actually, they do the fan signs with a piece of paper listing the fans’ personal details on the table… One fan asked the idol if they remembered their nationality as they told the idol during the previous time. The idol pretended to think about it, but looked down at the paper to guess it right. It felt like I was finding out a trade secret, so it was refreshing and yet a shock.

On the other hand, others had no clue, or preferred to be kept in the dark.

The list has more than one purpose! It also helps the idol keep the sequence of fans in check. It looks like it also isn’t K-Pop’s best kept secret. Here’s one instance where NCT‘s Jaemin acknowledges the existence of the list.
