The 2022 American Music Awards (AMAs) Adds New “Favorite K-Pop Artist” Category To Awards — Here Are The Groups Nominated
The American Music Awards (AMAs)has announced its 2022’s list of nominees!
For the first time in the award show’s history, they have introduced a new K-Pop category! Previously, K-Pop groups were nominated for awards alongside other international artists, without having a specific category dedicated to them.
The nominees for this year’s “Favorite K-Pop Artist” award include BLACKPINK, BTS, SEVENTEEN, TXT, and TWICE!

BTS are the only group nominated for an award outside of the K-Pop category and will be up for “Favorite Pop Duo or Group” for the fourth year in a row.
Other new categories added to the AMAs include “Favorite Afrobeats Artist”, “Favorite Rock Song”, and “Favorite Rock Album.” Voting for the “Favorite K-Pop Artist” category opens on November 1, 2022, and can be done on the Billboard website or Twitter.
The AMAs will air on November 20 at 8 PM ET on the network ABC.
