Amber Liu’s Comments Regarding The Promise She Made To F(x) Resurface Following Departure From SM Entertainment
Amber Liu announced her departure from SM Entertainment after ten years of being a member of F(x).
Given the lack of group activities, and Amber signing with U.S. agency Steel Wool Entertainment in the past few years, to some fans, this seems like a natural step towards establishing her solo career.
Previously, fans had shown concern for the F(x)’s lack of group activities over the past few years, however Amber’s comment regarding this has resurfaced.
In a recent interview, Amber was asked about this, to which she answered by recalling a promise the members had made to each other.
There is a promise we made between the F(x) members. It’s like “I’m the best when I’m in the direction of my personality, so Krystal also is the best in the direction of Krystal’s personality”
The members promised each other than even when they are pursuing their solo careers, they will always support each other to be the best that they can be.
The four of us become the best in each of our own personalities, so when we’re together it’s really awesome. So we say, let’s not be similar to each other … but let’s be the best in each of our ways.
Furthermore, Amber has also stated that F(x) is more than just making music together. Being in a group gave her a sense of sisterhood with the other members, a friendship that will continue on.
To us F(x) is more than just music and working together, it’s the friendship and the sisterhood we share. We will always do our best for all the MeUs out there. Thank you always for your concern and support.
No matter what, Amber and the other members will always hope to do the best for her fans, even when pursuing their solo careers.
That was shown with the reunion of Amber, Luna and Krystal at SM Town Live 2019 in Tokyo, in Amber’s last performance with F(x) before the end of her contract.
Amber will always be remembered for her subversion of K-Pop’s strict beauty standards, especially regarding female idols.
As a member of F(x), she will be remembered for establishing an experimental and groundbreaking niche that still perpetuates the genre to this day.
And fans will be sure to support her and the other members’ future endeavours.
