American TV Host Called Racist After Criticizing Bong Joon Ho’s Acceptance Speech at the Oscars
Bong Joon Ho‘s film, Parasite recently made history by taking home multiple awards at the Oscars, and while most are celebrating his great accomplishment, one American TV host criticized Bong Joon Ho’s acceptance speech, sparking the debate of whether he’s being racist.
Following the historic moment, BlazeTV host, Jon Miller took to his Twitter account to criticize Bong Joon Ho’s win.
A man named Bong Joon Ho wins Oscar for best original screenplay over Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and 1917.

But that’s not that part that sparked a heated debate.
This opinion was followed up by criticism of Bong Joon Ho’s acceptance speech as well.
Acceptance speech was: “GREAT HONOR. THANK YOU.” Then he proceeds to give the rest of his speech in Korean. These people are the destruction of America.
– Jon Miller
Not only did this post face backlash from netizens, but American celebrities such as John Legend, Andy Lassner, and Piers Morgan didn’t hesitate to criticize the TV host for what he had to say.
Do they pay you for these dumb takes or is this something you do for fun

Seems like you got the attention you were so pathetically thirsty for.
Well done.— andy lassner (@andylassner) February 10, 2020
You disgusting racist pr*ck. https://t.co/rretoZXoUp

Soon after the backlash, Jon Miller clarified that he was referring to those in Hollywood who awarded Parasite with the honor as “the destruction of America“.
“These people” are obviously not Koreans but those in Hollywood awarding a foreign film that stokes flames of class warfare over 2 films I thought were more deserving simply to show how woke they are. That should be clear from the rest of what I tweeted about tonight’s production.
– Jon Miller
But regardless of the clarification, the post is continuing to receive backlash with comments targeting his “racism” and “xenophobia”.
Does being a racist ass come naturally to you or did you have to work at it?

Wtf is wrong with you?

As an American, it is this type of comment that destroys us, not that someone spoke in Korean after being honored.
You should be ashamed of yourself.

Yikes. You’re kind of a terrible person.
Good luck with that.

Hey Jon, if you don’t like Koreans:

With great success also comes haters, but it’s evident that most support Bong Joon Ho, Parasite, and their well-deserved win.
Congratulations again to the cast and crew of Parasite!
