Bridge Collapses At Anseong Expressway Construction Site— Fatalities Confirmed

On February 25 at around 9:49 AM KST, a structure on top of a bridge pier collapsed at a construction site in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Currently, two workers have been found dead, and seven have been injured by the accident. Six of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.

The fire department reported there was one more person buried at the scene and has issued a national fire mobilization order to conduct rescue operations.

The accident site was a construction site to connect the Anseong-Yongin Expressway. It was reported that during construction, a slab top about 100m above the pier collapsed. It was also reported that Hyundai Engineering was in charge of the construction site.
