Apink’s Son Naeun Releases Statement After Ending Contract With Play M

Apink recently celebrated their 10th anniversary. At the same time, the members’ contracts with Play M were up for renewal. All remaining members except for Son Naeun renewed their contracts with the company. Since ending her contract, she has been in positive discussions to join YG Entertainment.

Naeun has now released an official statement on her Instagram in regards to the life-changing decision. She also reflected on her journey as an idol.

Hello, this is Apink’s Son Naeun.

I debuted when I was 18 years old and the past 10 years have flown by. Looking back, the 18-year-old Son Naeun singing ‘I Don’t Know’ was able to grow up to the 28-year-old Son Naeun today thanks to the overflowing love and support. I was able to spend the happiest moments of my life with gratitude.

She thanked everyone, including the group members, company, and fandom, for supporting her throughout the years. She ensured fans that while she is moving on to pursue a new path at this time, she hopes to reunite with her fellow Apink members again in the future.

I want to sincerely thank my members, Pandas, Play M family, staff, and so many more for having always been with me. After a long and thoughtful contemplation with the members and the company, I want to write what we have decided on.

We will focus on our separate place for the time being but we will one day reunite as Apink with one heart and one purpose so please cheer us on for the brighter future-Apink!

Naeun acknowledged that it will take time to adjust to the changes in her life. However, with hard work, she believes she will improve even more.

I’m still not used to leaving my family of 10 years to start anew at a new place but I will work hard to become an even more improved Son Naeun! Thank you!
