ARMYs Demand Answers As BTS Jimin’s “Set Me Free Pt.2” MV View Count Drops And Freezes, Prompting Response From YouTube
BTS‘s Jimin recently dropped his pre-release track “Set Me Free Pt. 2” from his upcoming solo debut album, FACE, and the song is already breaking records.
“Set Me Free Pt. 2” completely departs from BTS Jimin’s typical musical style, offering something fresh, experimental, and new that has had fans captivated since the song’s release.
As with previous releases from the group and members, ARMYs rallied to support through streaming the song on various music streaming platforms and streaming the music video on HYBE Labels‘ official YouTube channel.
The music video quickly rose to the number-one streaming video on YouTube in the U.S.

ARMYs began to trend #YouTube corrupt and #YouTubeSabotageBTS in search of answers from the global video platform giant, who started to respond to the onslaught of backlash.
Their response did little to appease ARMYs, who challenged the confusing answer the support team at YouTube gave in response to a fan’s email.
It’s not that we freeze the views or they receive a shadowban, the reason why that happens it’s because when they do a release (comeback) or streaming as you mentioned, it gets a lot of users watching it and the platform stops counting the views because they’re too many…
— YouTube support team member
Yt saying they don't count view cause of heavy traffic but when other groups use streaming farms they suddenly know how to count

This is a nonsensical answer admitting shortcomings of your OWN platform that is sabotaging artists like BTS from getting what deserve pic.twitter.com/AyiUaouUaL— Yun Yeong Chae (@btsarmychae) March 15, 2023
Another response from YouTube support again addressed the drops in the view count on the music video for “Set Me Free Pt. 2,” sharing that “temporarily slowing down (or even freezing) a video’s view count is to be expected.”
this is actually a normal part of how YouTube validates views! temporarily slowing down (or even freezing) a video's view count is to be expected. here are more details about why this happens & how it works: https://t.co/C8uLvnzmyZ

ARMYs once again weren’t satisfied as other K-Pop music videos that were recently released didn’t seem to be subject to the same issues.
still no proper response. no action. nothing. youtube lacks the transparency artists and fans deserve. #YouTubeCorrupt and #YouTubeSabotageBTS pic.twitter.com/zauyJSSIkF

ok guys, let's trend even more #YouTubeCorrupt and #YouTubeSabotageBTS
since they don't wanna give us a proper answer, they only have this treatment when it comes to the boys. BUT don't forget to stream, we have a goal to reach. let's do both, ok?— elo⁷ STREAM SET ME FREE (@btsbIueprint_) March 18, 2023
