Who Is She? ARMYs Get Curious By The Female Singer In BTS V's New Video

The gifts from BTS to ARMY to celebrate the group’s 10th debut anniversary keep coming, though the official date has gone by four days ago! On June 16, KST, the group’s member V released a video titled “Le Jazz de V,” which consisted of his soulful rendition of two popular jazz songs, “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas” by Bing Crosby and “Cheek to Cheek” by Fred Astaire.

While V’s intoxicating baritone immediately took over fans’ hearts, they were pleasantly surprised by the sweet female voice that joined him during the second song. This female vocalist’s effortless harmonies with the BTS member didn’t take long for ARMYs to get curious about her.

The female vocalist that performed in “Le Jazz de V” is Minna Seo, a 20-year-old singer based in South Korea. In 2022, she appeared in a reality survival show called Stars Awakening, created by Channel A and ABEMA. It was a Korean-Japanese co-production that aired every Thursday at 10:00 PM KST on Channel A in Korea and on ABEMA in Japan. The show divided its contestants into three categories, namely, idols, singer-songwriters, and vocalists. Minna joined as a vocalist on the show, competing with people in her category as well as across categories.

The singer started posting live covers on YouTube about a year ago. All her videos indicate that her area of expertise is Jazz. Last year, she held quite a few solo Jazz concerts in Seoul and even managed to sell out the Lotte Concert Hall in September. She performed “Cheek to Cheek” at this show, wow-ing the audience of thousands with her impeccable skills,

“Le Jazz de V” is not the first time this talented young artist has worked with the BTS member. She was credited for the vocal arrangement and background vocals on V’s cover of “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas” in December last year.

So, how did this rising talent get connected to a world star like BTS’s V? Though the details are unknown, fans noticed that the two singers have a few mutual musician acquaintances. BTS’s long-time producer Docskim follows Minna on Instagram, and she is also followed by Hyesung, who worked with V on his Bing Crosby cover.

Since the “Le Jazz de V” video came out, Minna has been rapidly gaining attention from BTS fans, who can’t appreciate her honey vocals enough. Within a few hours, her Instagram following has gone from around 4,000 to over 12,000!
