ARMYs Are Trying To Navigate Weverse Following News That Twitter Is To Be Acquired By Elon Musk
ARMYs may be saying goodbye to Twitter.
The reason why many are threatening to leave Twitter? Elon Musk, the American–South African–Canadian entrepreneur, investor, and business magnate, will reportedly acquire Twitter, Inc. for $44 billion USD.
BREAKING: Elon Musk clinched a deal to buy Twitter Inc for $44 billion on Monday in a transaction that will shift control of the social media platform populated by millions of users and global leaders to the world's richest person. https://t.co/FPYTg6QWId pic.twitter.com/vyyeTVYYGP

Elon Musk is the founder, CEO, and Chief Engineer at SpaceX; early-stage investor, CEO, and Product Architect of Tesla, Inc.; founder of The Boring Company; and co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI. So, he is known for being innovative but also problematic.
I am afraid Twitter will be different, but Elon Musk's companies actually put out good products? It's just that he's terrible to work for and highly problematic when acting on his own.
But as for our user experience…I guess my reaction is this. 🤷 https://t.co/w1EeOHefxq

Not only that, but many believe he poses a threat to stan Twitter, which is basically the backbone of Twitter.

So, fandoms are looking for alternatives if this deal becomes legit. In the case of BTS’s fans, ARMY, they already have another social media alternative lined up, Weverse.
Weverse is a Korean platform founded in 2018 by HYBE. The app specializes in artist-to-fan communications for musicians, especially K-Pop, and hosting multimedia content.
While many idols are active on Weverse, especially BTS, some ARMYs have struggled to adapt.
In fact, there are even many fan accounts on Twitter dedicated to Weverse updates for those who don’t frequently check the Weverse app.

Yet, now with the recent report of Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, ARMYs are rethinking Weverse and giving it another go. Besides, BTS themselves have already moved on from Twitter to Weverse and Instagram.

Nonetheless, it is proving more difficult than imagined. ARMYs are struggling to navigate Weverse. We can all certainly relate to when BTS first started using Instagram now.

Also reminder. If you get banned from Weverse you will need a whole new account. And if you have bought anything with that Weverse (BV, ITS, etc) once the account is banned you lose all that too. Just something to keep in mind yall!

Chaos surely ensued with Twitter ARMYs flooding to Weverse. So, many low-key hilarious posts resulted that are 100% meme material.

However, many realized that ARMY is not necessarily a monolith at the end of the day. There are many kinds of ARMYs. There are Twitter ARMYs, Weverse ARMYs, Instagram ARMYs, TikTok ARMYs, Facebook ARMYs, Amino ARMYs, and even WhatsApp ARMYs…
