On December 1, it was suddenly announced by Fantagio that they would be moving his memorial to a new temple. It would be moved to Seonunsa Temple in Gochang, Jeollabukdo.

The operation of “Moon’s Space” in Gukcheongsa has come to an end. From December 2, 2023, onwards, a new “Moon’s Space” will be announced further, to be operated at Seonunsa. For the Aroha that come to visit from far, the monks there will be providing free meals. If you did not pre-book a temple stay or are struck with unforeseen circumstances after 8pm and have to stay a day longer, there is a resting space where you can sleep the night and leave the next day.

The sudden change of location for “Moon’s Space” bothered fans for a few reasons. Firstly, fans alleged that the company had signed a business agreement with the temple. Next, they alleged that this was for the development of the K-Pop cultural industry. Lastly, items that Moonbin treasured in his life, as well as various letters from his friends would be on display at the new memorial. Fans are upset that his life is being put on display, like an exhibition. The temple stay also encourages foreign and domestic travelers to visit.

The new “Moon’s Space” will be located in Seonunsa, a Buddhist temple with a deep history, in Gochang, Jeollabukdo. This is so that we can commeorate him forever, for a longer time, as well as to safely install his ancestral tablet. We will also be displaying the existing post-its and letters, as well as some times that Moonbin treasured during his life in the new “Moon’s Space,” in place of candles.

On the other hand, in an announcement on the official fancafe, Fantagio alleged that the moving of the memorial space was due to the roads leading up to Gukcheongsa being hard to navigate. They also required a more permanent space to commemorate the star, as his tablet was not to be moved further. Thus, an agreement was made with Seonunsa.
