FIFTY FIFTY’s Agency ATTRAKT Files Lawsuit Of Billions Against Warner Music

FIFTY FIFTY’s agency, ATTRAKT, has taken legal action against Warner Music Korea, seeking damages worth approximately ₩20.0 billion KRW (about $14.5 million USD).

The lawsuit comes amid allegations that Warner Music Korea tampered with the group’s former members, attempting to lure them away from their existing contract with the agency.

In a statement released on October 23, ATTRAKT revealed that they are pursuing damages against former Warner Music Korea CEO Clayton Jin (Jin Seung Young) and current Executive Director Yoon Hyung Geun. The agency accuses the two of playing a key role in an illegal pre-contract meeting, known as tampering, with the parents of FIFTY FIFTY’s former members earlier this year. ATTRAKT claims to have collected substantial evidence from the meeting held at Warner Music Korea’s office on May 17, 2023.

The agency stressed that these alleged actions severely disrupted the group’s activities and caused significant harm to their business. ATTRAKT is determined to hold both Jin and Yoon accountable, describing their involvement as a major breach of trust.

CEO Jeon Hong Joon of ATTRAKT expressed frustration over the situation, condemning Warner Music Korea’s actions as an unacceptable attempt by a major global record label to exploit a smaller, domestic agency. He hinted that the damages being sought could increase beyond the initial claim of 20 billion KRW, as the true extent of the financial loss is still being assessed.

Last year, ATTRAKT had raised concerns about external forces trying to influence the FIFTY FIFTY members during a break from group activities due to health issues. The agency has now confirmed that Warner Music Korea was the external party involved in those attempts.
