ATTRAKT Obtains FIFTY FIFTY’s Trademark In Multiple Countries

The company is also pursuing a lawsuit against the former members.

According to recent reports, the K-Pop entertainment agency ATTRAKT has successfully obtained the trademark of the group name FIFTY FIFTY in multiple countries.

Last year, the K-Pop industry saw one of the biggest contract disputes between FIFTY FIFTY and its agency, ATTRAKT, following which three of the members left the company and the group. Last December, ATTRAKT filed a lawsuit worth ₩13.0 billion KRW (about $9.35 million USD) against the former members Saena, Sio, and Aran, along with their parents.

While FIFTY FIFTY member Keena, along with four new members, is continuing her activity under the group’s name, the rest of the members will see the first trial of the lawsuit on August 29.

Now, according to the Korean Intellectual Property Office’s data, ATTRAKT has been granted official ownership of the group name FIFTY FIFTY in both English and Korean, along with the ability to register the same trademark in other industries besides music and entertainment.

The label obtained the trademark in the United Kingdom in November 2023, in China in January 2024, and in the European Union the very next month. They also recently completed the trademark registration in Taiwan.

With South Korea included, ATTRAKT now owns the trademark of FIFTY FIFTY’s name in 31 countries across the globe. Some of the countries where the registration is pending include the United States, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
