B.A.P, GOT7, TWICE and more nominated for MTV EMA “Best Korea Act”
This year a few big names in K-pop have been nominated for “Best Korea Act.”
Popular artists GOT7, VIXX, TWICE, B.A.P, and GFRIEND have been nominated for this year’s MTV European Music Awards. Whoever wins “Best Korea Act” will have a chance to be included in “Best Worldwide Act” nominations.
In 2014, B.A.P won the award for “Best Korea Act” and also earned the chance to be included in the final list for “Best Worldwide Act.” At the 2015 MTV EMA‘s BTS took home the awards for “Best Korea Act.” They competed against fellow artists such as B1A4, GOT7, GFRIEND, and VIXX. EXO and B.A.P were previous winners of the category.
In 2011, BIGBANG became the first Korean artist to win “Best Worldwide Act” and the “Best Asia and Pacific Act,” and remains the only Korean artist to have succeeded in winning the “Best Worldwide Act.” Fans are able to vote for their favorite artist by going to the MTV’s EMA Korean web page.
The 2016 MTV EMAs will broadcast around the globe from the Ahoy in Rotterdam, Netherlands on Sunday, November 6 at 9pm CET.
