B.A.P nominated for “Best Worldwide Act” for the 2014 MTV EMA
Worldwide sensation B.A.P, who recently won the “Best Korea Act” for the 2014 MTV EMA, has now also been officially nominated for the “Best Worldwide Act”!
On October 30th, MTV announced that only 10 artists made the final cut from nearly 300 worldwide nominations. This year’s nominations were unique in the sense that fans, for the first time ever, were able to nominate their favorite global star via hashtag voting.
For the “Best Korea Act” award, B.A.P beat out other famous groups such as BEAST, CNBLUE, KARA, and Bulletproof Boy Scouts (BTS). The group then had to go up against “Best Japan Act” winner Daichi Miura. The “Best Korea Act” award served as a prerequisite in order to be nominated for the “Best Worldwide Act”.
B.A.P will be representing their country in the “Best Worldwide Act” category after winning the nomination. This award is given to the hottest musical act in the globe, of which BIGBANG has been the only Korean recipient since 2011. Last year, EXO won the “Best Korea Act” award and attended the event in Amsterdam.
The 2014 MTV EMA is set to take place on November 9th in Glasgow, Scotland at 9pm CET. B.A.P will be going up against nine other acts including Mohammed Assaf, 5 Seconds of Summer, Revolverheld, Dawid Kwiatkowski, One Direction, Alessandra Amoroso, Dulce Maria, Fifth Harmony, and Bibi Zhou. Voting has begun and will be open until 11:59pm CET on Saturday November 8th.
