Upcoming Girl Group Accused Of Plagiarizing BABYMONSTER Before Debuting
Upcoming girl group BADVILLAIN has been accused of plagiarizing BABYMONSTER before they even debuted.
BADVILLAIN is set to make its debut next month and has been posting teasers and photos to get fans excited. One of the first video teasers was released in April and showcased silhouettes of the members, along with the group’s teasers and things to associate with the group.
When the first teaser came out, netizens immediately shared how they saw a similarity to BABYMONSTER’s poster that was released before any other information was revealed, back in January 2023.
Netizens also shared other similarities they saw, such as the layout of the teasers, the colors, and even similarities between the logos.

A netizen even shared the comparison to one of the teasers where the BPM and melody of the music used seemed identical.

While fans recognized the similarities, many pointed out that the black and red color scheme was something that was known for groups that are under Big Planet Made, sharing an example of VIVIZ.
I'm sorry to y'all but whoever said bpm copying baemon… Bpm always used black and red to introduce the members… https://t.co/BTfMsw3Myy pic.twitter.com/EoQRXNtsor

Yet, the accusations have been reignited after BADVILLAIN recently shared concept photos of the seven members.
While they all looked amazing and the vibes seemed to perfectly match their name, netizens noticed the similarities with BABYMONSTER’s concept photos when the group were set to make their re-debut with “SHEESH” after Ahyeon’s return.
With a wave of plagiarism claims from companies towards groups, it wasn’t surprising that the distinct similarities became a hot topic online with BABYMONSTER fans sharing their anger at the alleged “plagiarism.”

With claims of plagiarism becoming a hot topic amid the feud between HYBE and ADOR, it isn’t surprising that a lot of accusations are coming to light, especially when it comes to groups from big companies.
