Beloved Actress Gets Hospitalized With Mysterious Symptoms, Blames Doppelgänger
If you meet your doppelgänger, it could be an omen of death— at least, according to a popular myth around the world. Though the finer details might vary from region to region, it seems to be a fairly common superstition across cultures. And while superstitions have a shrinking place in modern society, a popular Korean actress recently claimed to have experienced the phenomenon first-hand.
Actress Han Ga In posted an intriguing video on her YouTube channel on December 5, KST, sharing her current situation. In the video, her production team went to the hospital after being informed that the actress had been hospitalized.
Han Ga In greeted her staff members warmly from her hospital bed and started explaining her health condition. She half-jokingly speculated that her health was probably affected after meeting her doppelganger, singer and actor Kim Dong Jun.
Referring to the myth about meeting one’s doppelgänger, Han wondered if she only got sick because of their different genders.
I met Kim Dong Jun a while ago. You know the myth about doppelgängers, right? Meeting one means death. I guess since we’re different genders, it just ended with me getting sick.”

The actress then gave a detailed account of what exactly went down leading to her hospitalization. She recalled that after meeting Kim Dong Jun, she had been feeling unwell from that very evening. “I couldn’t stand at all or eat. It wasn’t a diagnosed condition,” she revealed, adding that she had to be hospitalized after a shoot and had been in the hospital for three days.
Han Ga In continued, “I collapsed, clung to my husband, and crawled into the hospital. The nurses had to bring me a wheelchair.” The actress explained that she had been dealing with unexplained dizziness for a while but mistakenly attributed it to the aftereffects of BPPV (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). She had previously revealed that after her second child’s birth, she had been experiencing severe BPPV for years. It was recently discovered that her symptoms were caused by orthostatic hypotension. The actress also experiences persistent heart palpitations due to this condition.
Luckily, Han Ga In’s doctors were able to find the cause of her dizziness this time and treat it, leading to her condition getting better.
