Beloved 4th Gen Group Suffers A Dramatic Decline In Album Sales, Fans Call Out Company

“Like what is going on??”

While streaming is one way of measuring an album’s success, many people still use physical albums to gauge the strength of an artist’s fandom. High album sales are a source of pride, while lower sales sometimes point to an issue.

Usually, as time goes on, an artist’s number of sales increases as their popularity increases.

However, one girl group’s sales have steadily declined and fans are holding their label responsible.

In 2020, RBW debuted a new girl group called Purple Kiss.

The group drew in a good amount of attention, increasing the number of albums sold during their second comeback to 37,100 during the first week, their best performing to date.

As time has continued, however, the sales that the group have seen during their first week have steadily declined. Their following album, Cabin Fever, sold 15,894 during the first week and 2,757 on its first day, and BXX, the album released before their most recent sold 11,020 for the week and 2,583 on its first day.

Usually, first day sales are one of the highest of the week as cumulative preorders are counted.

On October 22, the group returned with Headway, featuring the title track, “On My Bike.”

According to Hanteo, the group sold 854 copies on the first day of sales, another decrease.

And while the tracking week is not over, fans have expressed disappointment with RBW. Many have blamed the company’s alleged mismanagement of the talented group for the decline in sales over time.
