Beomhan Goes On Profanity-Laced Rants Amid Backlash For “Insensitive” Joke
Content Warning
Former FM Entertainment trainee Beomhan is in hot water after recent live broadcasts.
Beomhan went through a lot while he was a K-Pop idol trainee. Since then, he has made his solo debut, which was met with backlash due to its poor quality and production. Yet, that’s not all. Beomhan has been the subject of multiple allegations made against him, which he has quickly refuted.
Now, Beomhan has been “canceled” by many after some concerning live broadcasts.
It began shortly after the U.S. presidential election results revealed Donald Trump would be president yet again. While many Americans voted for Trump, hence the results, many Americans were left not just disappointed but heartbroken and fearful for their futures. Minorities, including POC, women, LGBTQIA+, etc., especially have been afraid about their rights being stripped away with him in power.
Jimmy Kimmel tears up while talking about Donald Trump’s victory:
“It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard working immigrants who make this country great, for health care, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice,… pic.twitter.com/p3fCZ4DESu

“Women are property.” Not even one full day after the election. The gloves are off. I hope every woman who voted for Trump sees this and feels sick. Is it dawning on you yet? This is just the beginning. It will get so much worse. https://t.co/VlrFnDIdXG

So, when Beomhan held a live broadcast shortly after the results, emotions were still at an all-time high for those grieving; naturally, the topic of current events came about. Yet, no one expected Beomhan’s attitude toward it.
Beomhan jokingly said, “Rest in peace, women,” and sarcastically congratulated Trump, among other things, including parodying Kanye West‘s infamous interruption of Taylor Swift‘s VMA Awards acceptance speech. While some knew it was Beomhan’s usual attempt at using humor to cope with a bad situation (the same man has laughed about himself being hate-crimed, so it’s on brand), it left a bad taste in many’s mouths. Some misunderstood Beomhan, believing he was being a misogynist. Others understood his poor attempt at joking, but they agreed it was not his place as a man to joke about such a serious topic.
Everyone who is a woman, this week, rest in peace, and I’d like to say, ‘Rest in peace’ to all women, and we have failed you this week and as a country. And, Donald Trump, congratulations on being the president. However, I would like to say that Beyoncé had the best music video of all time, and thank you, Beyoncé. …And if you’re a woman, just know that we stand with you, and I am so sorry and rest in peace and good luck. I’m so sorry. And please take a mental health day and go shopping or something.

As the clip circulated, netizens also began circulating his problematic history. Multiple allegations were thrown at Beomhan, from sexism to homophobia to racism to past problematic views he no longer holds.
okay so beomhan
– said idols shouldn’t date and those who do are “betraying the fans”
– hit a fans car and signed it???
– stole a fans remix of his song and never compensated them
– made jokes about american women and crashed out
– called his fans bitches and the r slur on live pic.twitter.com/dumGJdz7yI— ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ (@kyoongfairy) November 12, 2024
Consequently, Beomhan released a statement apologizing. He explained his original intentions but realized he spoke too lightly about such a serious and sensitive subject.
Yet, netizens continued to harass him. Many felt the apology was not enough, and he needed to prove his sincerity. Beomhan seemingly got offended and recanted his apology, although he did not delete it.
Beomhan continued to rant on X (formerly Twitter), replying to netizens. He even deleted some of his responses.
Beomhan continually defended himself.
I have a girlfriend
Offered compensation and ensured safety
Made a payment of 1000$ and took it on tour
Made a joke to relieve stress for people during a hard week
Called YOU a bitch for saying the r slur.— therealbeomhan (@beomhan_x) November 12, 2024
One tweet especially upset netizens, as Beomhan tweeted the R-word (r*tarded), which is considered derogatory, reinforcing negative stereotypes of people with a disability. In context, someone reportedly used this slur against Beomhan while sending him threats, and he was so upset that he repeated it while cursing the person.
Beomhan also retweeted a person’s disturbing post, which essentially wished for him to commit suicide. While Beomhan quickly unshared it, he made his own tweet, referencing the date in which he attempted suicide before, alarming fans.
It didn’t end there, though. After the rant via X, Beomhan apparently held a live broadcast on a campus yesterday. He went off on the viewers, screaming and cursing so much that allegedly, fellow pedestrians asked him to be quiet. Several moments circulated, upsetting netizens. For instance, he called people “b*tch,” and again, he said the R-word. Again, he “repeated” it after someone else used the slur against him.
his response to ableism and being ableist himself is to call people bitches, fighting ableism with misogyny i guess…? (yes, you can use bitch in a derogatory way like he is here)pic.twitter.com/aFGj3YE6vE

This chaotic and upsetting live broadcast went on for about half an hour.
The live broadcast was not saved like most of his live broadcasts. So, he held yet another live broadcast shortly after while clips from the first were already going viral. He continued to curse out those who left hate comments, slurs, or death threats. Beomhan clarified the controversies and promised he was not threatening suicide, as he meant he was committing “career suicide” because he was fed up with continually defending himself amid non-stop “smear campaigns.” Yet, he also apologized for his insensitive jokes about the election results.

Netizens, both fans and non-fans, were alarmed by Beomhan’s behavior. Despite his various controversies, he isn’t one to curse publicly, especially not at others. Many became suspicious that Beomhan was intoxicated, having either consumed too much alcohol or drugs, and he was “crashing out” as a result. Yet, Beomhan declared, even in the recent live broadcast, that he was sober, consuming no form of drugs or alcohol.
Beomhan saved the last live broadcast, and the comment section included mixed reactions. Yet many loyal fans praised Beomhan for standing up for himself against hate and calling out netizens for their horrible death threats.
On the other hand, many are concerned for Beomhan’s wellbeing, as he didn’t appear to be in a good mental space during the live broadcasts.
If you search up beomhan, all you see is people trying to get hit tweets and making fun of mental health. Why does no one else see he genuinely may be having a manic episode, and he even read comments telling him to commit.. I’m not a fan of him nor am I defending what he said

I’m sorry but Beomhan does not need to be pursuing a career in the entertainment industry………..he’s on IG live, out walking in public while completely crashing out. He doesn’t need a platform, he needs a psychiatrist pic.twitter.com/MAIzy8ilHy

Beomhan is NOT okay and you can see that. People are adding more fuel to the fire at this point! Media has ruined him and his mental health. But just because we are given the opportunity of secrecy behind our profiles, that doesn’t mean we can attack him!

Others feel Beomhan is a prime example of why idols need not just media training but shouldn’t have 100% control over their social media accounts.
beomhan being on my tl and crashing out is so funny to me like it’s another example about how we don’t know these idols at all😭 pic.twitter.com/HyjFLnzFGy

Beomhan immediately getting on live to repeatedly call women “bitches” is a perfect example of how men react when they’re being held accountable lmao

Since the controversial live broadcasts, Beomhan has also taken to his social media accounts with additional statements. Again, he has apologized and reemphasized his political stance.
