CNN Releases Full BIGBANG Taeyang Clip Amidst Wave Of Malicious Comments Against Him
Previously, BIGBANG‘s Taeyang sparked mixed reactions went his comments from a CNN interview went viral online.
In the interview, he touched on BIGBANG’s impact on the global rise of K-Pop.
Thankfully, we were able to open doors to global markets for many K-Pop bands that came after us. And they can perform on world stages. I wouldn’t say we presented that, but it feels great that our efforts have played a part in that.

However, a group of netizens began leaving disapproving comments on his Instagram, believing Taeyang’s comment had disregarded BTS‘s contributions to K-Pop. Netizens flooded his posts with comments stating “BTS paved the way” and similar messages.
Most recently, CNN has released the full version of the interview to provide context to the clip, specifically in the second half of his complete response.
I’m thankful. And in some parts, when BIGBANG was active in the music scene, we also worked really hard to reach that point. Anow now when I look back, with our efforts and achievements, thankfully, we were able to open doors to global markets for many K-Pop bands that came after us, and they can perform on world stages. I wouldn’t say we presented that, but it feels great to see that our efforts have played a part in that. On the other hand, I believe we were able to receive the level of love we did, because of the many senior artists who worked hard before us, the senior singers who work really hard for K-Pop scene before it was even widely recognized, are the ones who made things possible for us. So, it’s a very natural thing. I feel very fortunate and am really grateful for it.
