BIGBANG Clear Confusion On T.O.P And Seungri’s Status With The Group
The members of BIGBANG have cleared up confusion over T.O.P and Seungri‘s status with the group.
While BIGBANG originally debuted at five, Seungri departed from the group in 2019 amid an investigation into the Burning Sun scandal. He would later be sentenced to prison for several crimes, including arranging sex trafficking and illicit gambling.
T.O.P went on to withdraw from the group in 2023.
Recently, G-Dragon returned with “Power,” his first new solo song since 2017.
While promoting the track, he and Taeyang appeared on Daesung‘s YouTube program, Daesung Zip, where they reminisced about their shared past and other topics.
At one point during the episode, the PD begins showing the group items from their past, including items like a poster from around the time of their release, Always. Hilariously, the group were surprised by these items and didn’t remember many.
The second item the group were shown was a photo from their earlier days, originally featuring them as five. The image was cropped to exclude Seungri and T.O.P.
Other items shown were a bank card and membership card featuring them on the front. When the cards were shown in a close-up, the images originally showed the group as five but also had former members Seungri and T.O.P. blurred out.
The group also refer to themselves as three later on in the interview.
Through the years, there had been some question over the status of the former members, with some supporting the group as five and other unclear on T.O.P’s withdrawal, but it seems this has officially cleared things up.
