The new CEO has had a long association with BIGHIT MUSIC since before HYBE came into existence. She started working under BIGHIT in 2010, when it was known as BigHit Entertainment, in the company’s training and development team. She played a significant role in the training and education process of the company’s trainees, including the members of BTS and TXT.

Shin’s contribution to developing K-Pop artists was recognized by Billboard, as she was named one of the young leaders in the “2022 Billboard 40 Under 40” list and the “2023 Billboard Women in Music” list.

Fans are particularly ecstatic about Shin Seon Jung’s appointment as the new BIGHIT CEO, given that the BTS and TXT members have spoken very highly of her in the recent past. Notably, RM had previously called her a “guardian angel” who was responsible for ensuring Jimin stayed in BTS. TXT leader Soobin also mentioned the T&D team in an earlier video, sharing that he teared up while parting ways with the team after his debut.

With Shin Seon Jung taking over as the new BIGHIT CEO, fans hope to see positive changes in the organization’s treatment of its artists.

Meanwhile, BIGHIT MUSIC’s parent label HYBE has been facing the heat for a while for allegedly overworking its artists, leading fans to demand for better management. You can read more about it here.
