On September 14, KST, Jungkook posted two consecutive posts through his dog’s Instagram account, @bowwow_bam, seemingly showing support for the members of NewJeans. The five members of the girl group are currently entangled in a complicated conflict between HYBE and Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of their label ADOR.

Though Jungkook’s posts didn’t mention NewJeans directly, his captions, “Artists are not guilty” and “Don’t use them,” were largely interpreted as to be referring to the group.

While many fans were grateful for Jungkook’s supposed show of support for the group, others speculated that the Instagram account was hacked and the posts were being made with malicious intent. In the midst of this situation, HYBE released a statement saying they were trying to learn more about the posts from Jungkook.

Now, BIGHIT MUSIC, the label of BTS, has released a brief statement confirming Jungkook’s stance. The singer asserted that the posts were indeed to show support for his young juniors.

We have confirmed that this was posted with the belief that, under no circumstances should young artists be dragged into disputes or used as shields.

This direct show of support has touched the hearts of K-Pop fans. They pointed out that Jungkook must be aware of the complexities faced by young idols in the industry, given that he had debuted at a very young age as well, and commended his aptitude as a senior.
