Popular Idol Wins Lawsuit Against Person Who Spread False Claims Of School Bullying
Previously, BLACK6IX‘s Kim Hyunjae was forced to drop out of Peak Time, a reboot survival show. He was accused of school bullying, to which he thoroughly denied. He claimed that he dropped out of the show to prevent affecting his team mates, simultaneously filing a lawsuit over the accusations. He sued for ₩500 million KRW (about $377,000 USD) in damages.
The accusations were uploaded by his former schoolmate. Regarding the accusations, his legal representative claimed the following.
A fellow alumni from Kim Hyunjae’s elementary and middle school and that alumni’s mother repeatedly posted false allegations of school violence. Due to the criticisms against Kim Hyunjae as a perpetrator, he dropped out of Peak Time and as such, is suing for compensation. We have already handed in testimonies from the school’s students and teachers, as well as testimonies from the policemen working at the station, and truth verifications from the Sinan Office of Education, as part of evidence for the compensation lawsuit.

On July 10, 2024, Hyunjae updated fans through his Instagram. He posted a photo of his legal win.
The screenshot was of a document titled, “Kim Hyunjae wins lawsuit over false accusations. Seoul Central Courts rule that his schoolmate has to pay him for damages.”
He filed the lawsuit in April 2023, after the accusations came to light. It took a year for him to gain justice. You can read more about the case below.
