BLACKPINK Shares Inspiring Message On Climate Change That Everyone Needs To Hear
In a recent interview with the BBC, BLACKPINK sent a message of support for an upcoming major conference on climate change which will be held in Britain a few months from now.
In the interview, Rosé described how their eyes were opened after watching the documentary David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet.
I think we all probably saw it, but definitely the documentary that Sir David Attenborough presented, A Life On Our Planet, has helped us a lot, and various other platforms [have] helped us to actually learn more about what we could actually do to sustain our beautiful planet.
— Rosé
Jennie shared how she better understood the precarious situation the planet is in as a result of climate change.
Basically the documentary showed us how precious our planet is and how vulnerable it is right now. So we’re losing more of the natural world every day, and time is running out, we feel like. We just really felt like we need to say something, you know?
— Jennie
Agreeing with Jennie, Rosé expressed gratitude at being able to take part in “such an important cause” even if she believes they still have much to learn about it.
Yeah, I think we’ve all still got so much to learn, but it feels good that we can be able to participate in such an important cause.
— Rosé
Jisoo then summarized BLACKPINK’s message, explaining that it isn’t too late to contribute to the fight against climate change.
Our message is that it’s not too late. We can still learn more and work to make it better.
— Jisoo
Lisa ended their message by saying how it is important to learn more about climate change because it affects everyone. She hopes that BLINKs will join them in learning more about it.
The first step is to know what’s happening with climate change because it affects all of us. We want to learn more, and we hope our fans do too.
— Lisa
In related news, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson wrote to BLACKPINK to thank them for supporting the UN Climate Summit, which is otherwise known as COP26.
