Recently, BLACKPINK‘s Jennie has gained attention after netizens worried about how damaged her hair is.

Since debuting, Jennie has always impressed fans with her hairstyles. Although she hasn’t gone as bold and varied as other idols, including within her group, Jennie always looks flawless and tries out new and modern looks.

Amidst an ongoing discussion on the quality and care of idols’ hair, BLACKPINK’s Jennie has become one of the most recent idols to raise concerns about the damage to her hair.

A video was recently posted that contained photos of BLACKPINK’s Jennie showing what looks like extreme damage to her hair. In the shots, Jennie’s hair seems to be dry and broken, leading it to seem out of control and “dead.”

In the comments, many netizens compared it to fellow member Rosé and her lack of damage, considering the amount of bleach the idol has to use.

Yet, many shared how different the damage was. While some thought it was due to Jennie changing hair color, others pointed out it wasn’t frequent. They added that while it could be due to heat damage from straighteners and curlers, a lot seemed to be from removing tight braids that Jennie loves.

While many might not expect that reasoning, Jennie often wears braids on stage, and they are extremely small and tight.

Although Jennie and her team probably ensure to care for her hair, it’s not surprising that fans are worried. With so many different events and schedules, Jennie has to change her hair and do different styles. Since their debut in 2017, it’s not surprising her hair is seeing the impact of years of styling.
