BLACKPINK’s Jennie And Rosé Harassed By Sexual Comments And Drug Allegations From Haters
BLACKPINK members Jennie and Rosé recently became unfair targets of online harassment.
The two members have been attacked with lewd comments on X (former Twitter) through the hashtags “JennieChallenge” and “RoséChallenge.” Both these hashtags emerged as an aftermath of the “SugaChallenge,” which supposedly encouraged fans to drink inside their cars, violating traffic laws. Later, claims started being made that this challenge was started by a BLACKPINK fan with the intent to defame BTS fans and Suga. So, a group of fan accounts on X started the hashtags with the BLACKPINK members’ names as a counter.
As a result, some severely disturbing posts have emerged on X regarding the two idols. On the one hand, Rosé has been attacked with accusations of drug abuse based on a picture where she was allegedly spotted next to a table with drugs on it. These allegations, which surfaced last year, were debunked shortly after. YG Entertainment had also announced legal action against those who spread the rumor.

Jennie, on the other hand, has been targeted with posts that can be considered borderline sexual harassment. Her hashtag has been replete with edited pictures aimed at slut-shaming and character assassination. Many also reposted a private picture of the idol that was leaked last year after she became a victim of cloud hacking.

The online harassment of the two BLACKPINK members even made headlines in Korean media, angering netizens.
- “Why are they so obsessed with BLACKPINK? It’s really intense and persistent.”
- “WTF.”
- “At this point, they are a menace to society.”
- “Why are they picking on BLACKPINK like that?”
- “Honestly, their outrageous behavior isn’t new. I’m not even a BLACKPINK fan, but I’ve seen it so much that I’m fed up. It seriously makes me sick.”
